Cookies are tiny data files which are placed on your computer or other devices (such as smart ‘phones or ‘tablets’) as you browse this website. They are used to ‘remember’ when your computer or device accesses our websites. Cookies are essential for the effective operation of our website.

Below we describe what information they gather, how we use it and why we sometimes need to store these cookies. We will also share how you can prevent these cookies from being stored however this may downgrade or ‘break’ certain elements of the sites functionality.

For more general information on cookies see the Wikipedia article on HTTP Cookies.

How We Use Cookies

We use cookies for a variety of reasons detailed below (in “The Cookies We Set”). For example, when you submit data to us through a form, such as those found on contact pages or comment forms, cookies may be set to remember your user details for future correspondence.

Information Collected

Some cookies collect information about browsing behaviour when you access this website via the same computer or device. This includes information about pages viewed and your journey around a website, and includes personal information including IP address (pseudonymised) and location data. We do not use cookies to collect or record information on your name, address or other contact details in any database, but if you provide this information within some of our third-party services (social media functionality, online chat), the service provider may collect this information directly based on that interaction. Unless you agree to it directly with that service provider, they will not use your personal data for any other purpose than the function they perform on our website.

The Cookies We Set

We set a limited number of cookies to ensure that our website is functional and to optimise your user experience. These are:

Essential Cookies

These cookies are core to the functionality of the site. Many of these cookies reference our website hosting platform WordPress but contain no personal data, as our website is available to all visitors without need for a login.

Functional Cookies

Third-party providers of certain capabilities may require cookies to provide that functionality. At present, the following providers are allowed cookies on the Vapor 156 website:

Provider Function Description

Your Gravatar is an image that follows you from site to site appearing beside your name when you do things like comment or post on a blog.”

http://en.gravatar.com/support/what-is-gravatar/

Uses personal data including name and email to provide customer support services
Uses personal data as data controller to provide social media sharing

User Tracking

Third party analytics and online marketing are used to track and measure usage of this site so that we can continue to produce engaging content. These cookies may track things such as how long you spend on the site or pages you visit which helps us to understand how we can improve the site for you:

Provider Function Description
Google Analytics /Google Tag Manager Analytics One of the most widespread and trusted analytics solution on the web; helps us to understand how you use the site and ways that we can improve your experience
Google Conversion Tracking and Remarketing Online Marketing Another analytics tool to analyse user journeys and optimise our website

In order to keep the DancingCuba website current, user-oriented and complete, this website uses Google Analytics, a web analysis tool by Google Inc. (“Google”) that allows us to optimize our website to your needs. Google Analytics uses cookies that can track your preferences when you visit our website. This provides functions such as facilitating navigation and allows us to make our services even more user-friendly. The information generated for this purpose (including the IP address) is anonymized by default so that it cannot be used to identify you. The data is only analyzed for reports after anonymization. The information generated by these cookies is generally transmitted to and stored on a Google server in the United States. As a user of our services, you can of course opt out of the use of cookies by changing your browser settings at any time.

You can prevent the data generated by the cookie and related to your use of the website (including your IP address) from being collected and processed by Google by downloading and installing a browser plug-in (IP anonymization). However, Google first truncates your IP address within Member States of the European Union or other contracting states to the Agreement on the European Economic Area. The current link is: http://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de.

More information on usage conditions and data protection in Google Analytics can be found here: http://www.google.com/analytics/terms/us.html.

As an AdWords customer, Vapor 156 also uses Google conversion tracking by Google on some pages. This means that Google AdWords places a cookie on your computer (“conversion cookie”) if you have accessed our website via a Google ad. These cookies become invalid after 30 days. If you visit certain pages on our website and the cookie has not yet expired, we and Google can recognize that someone has clicked on an ad and been directed to our page as a result. Each AdWords customer receives a different cookie. Cookies therefore cannot be tracked via the websites of AdWords customers. The information collected with the help of the conversion cookie allows us to prepare conversion statistics to optimize our services. AdWords customers know, for instance, the total number of customers who have clicked on their ad and been redirected to a page with a conversion tracking tag, but they do not receive any information by which users can be personally identified. If you do not want to participate in the tracking, you can prevent the placement of the necessary cookie, for instance through a browser setting that deactivates the automatic placement of cookies in general. You can also deactivate conversion tracking cookies by setting your browser to block cookies from the domain“googleadservices.com”.

Moreover, Vapor 156 uses Google’s remarketing technology on some pages. With this technology, users who have already visited our web pages and online services and shown an interest in what we have to offer are shown targeted advertising on other websites of the Google Partner network. The ads are displayed through the use of cookies, by means of which the user’s behavior during his or her visit to the website is analysed and then used for targeted product recommendations and interest-based advertising.

If you do not wish to receive any interest-based advertising, you can deactivate Google’s use of cookies for these purposes by going to https://www.google.de/settings/ads. Alternatively, users can deactivate cookies from third-party providers by going to the network advertising initiative’s deactivation page (link: http://www.networkadvertising.org/managing/opt_out.asp).

Other Cookies

From time to time, we test new features and make subtle changes to the way that the site is delivered. When we are still testing new features, cookies may be used to ensure that you receive a consistent experience whilst on the site whilst ensuring we understand which optimisations our users appreciate the most. Once we are sure that the feature and any relevant cookie are a permanent inclusion, we will update our cookie policy to reflect the changes.
